a page from my Boston notebook |
Let's get to the purpose of this blog... I'm going to Boston. I am basically skipping ahead to the "climax" here, and I'll catch up on the backstory in future posts.
At the end of July, I will be going to the greater Boston area as a chaperone on a high school mission trip with my church.
To the average person, that sentence probably seems pretty basic. But I write it and then I'm all like "what?"...even now. The trip is paid for. The flights and hotel are booked. Arrangements are made. It's just around the corner. And still I'm all like "what?". If you have known me well for more than a couple of years, you get it.
Let's dissect (because that's what I do best)...
This trip has a pretty serious lists of first attached to it
- First time away from my son for 8 days (yup, eight days)
- First mission trip. ever.
- First time to Boston. ever.
- First time chaperoning teenagers.
- First time actually helping with youth/teens at all
Needless to say...I'm a TINY bit under-qualified for this. But God loves using the under-qualified so it will be fun to see what He has in store.
You did not choose me, but I chose you and appointed you that you should go and bear fruit and that your fruit should abide, so that whatever you ask the Father in my name, he may give it to you.” John 15: 16>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>
Prayer Prompt:
When the feelings of inadequacy creep in (because they will), that I will lean on God knowing that He has equipped me for such a time as this.
